The annual football skills camp held on the island of Molokai, for the youth of Molokai! There has not been organized football at the prep level in since 1959. In the mid 2000's, with the help of those who support and make investments into Molokai athletics, the "Bringing it Back" campaign was initiated. In 2009, saw the inaugural kick-off of Molokai football at the prep level, playing 8-man football in the Maui Interscholastic League. The high school was still at a proportionate disadvantage however, because they've not had the opportunity to learn important football fundamentals at an early age with youth organized tackle football.
The purpose of our skills camp is to get the basic fundamentals of football taught at an early age, preparing them for playing tackle football at an elite level. For the present prep players, it's an opportunity to get quality football instruction, without incurring the financial hardship of airfare, lodging and transportation from having to leave the island to attend camps on Oahu or the U.S mainland.
PAST CAMPS

2025 marked our fifth camp anniversary year! We teamed up with the Maui County Parks & Recreation Department to hold our first day of camp at Kaunakakai park. With a later start in the afternoon, we can extend camp into the evening for our "Friday Night Lights" flag games! Three games featured the Keiki championship game, a girls flag game, and the boys Mayhem 7's game (7on7). We also held a special recognition for a great Molokai coach. We honored Coach Ken Nakayama with a Lifetime Achievement Award for years exemplary coaching young men. He touched generations of Molokai young men, who played baseball for him, and a lot of them showed up that night to honor him.

In 2024,

We are always happy to have our Molokai boys Scooby von Oelhoffen & Chris Naole. Chris brought his friend, ex-Rainbow Warrior, John Estes (NFL: Jackson Jaguars). We were able to secure coaches from high school and the UFL! Coach Tupu Alualu from St. Louis Crusader football program, and Russ Ehrenfeld from the UFL's DC Defenders. Mahalo to all our sponsors and donors for making our camp a huge success!

We are back! After a two year haitus, due to a global pandemic, it was exciting to be back out in the fresh, clean air! We missed our island home, and our friends so much, we were excited to get back to the business of developing the youth of Molokai to play football correctly and safely! We were grateful to have some of the best coaches in the state of Hawaii present this year. Ex-NFL and collegiate players, Scooby & Chris Naole. High school football state champions coaches Sterling & Stuart Carvalho! And Local boy Peter Pale! Big MAHALO to all our sponsors and donors. Without you, there's no way we can do this camp!

<< COVID-19 PANDEMIC >>
In year 2020-2021 the United States of America experienced a global pandemic that, for safety reasons, prohibited any person-to-person activities where the coronavirus may spread. We suspended our camp until further notice.

The inaugural MOLOKAI FOOTBALL SKILLS CAMP was held in June 2019, and was the service project activity of the Akana Ohana Family Reunion on our home island of Molokai. We wanted to assist current boys football wpoxxWe wanted to do something, that the kids on Molokai don't have access to, and make it a FREE event for them. It was a smashing success! So much so, that we decided to continue the Molokai Football Skills Camp on an annual basis. We thank our family sponsors and donors, who generously gave, so we could provide the kids with camp t-shirts, and a lunch. More than 100+ boys and girls registered and showed up to participate and GET BETTER.
